Re working the old camera mount; On the SKCC run out to Hollycombe I trial ran the SJCAM in a number of positions on the old stainless mount & vibration was an issue with any sort of extension arm.
This time I'm trying some 5mm thick aluminium - stock piece from eBay 50mm wide so straightforward to drill, cut to length and round off the corners. Flange nuts either side the U bolt grabs the top of the roll bar with the plate flat against its underside it can't wobble left/right; webbing to protect the powder coat.
Anything protruding above the roll bar needs to be smooth so the half hood can still be used. The camera will quickly slide out of its mount when parked or I need to put on the roof leaving the mount firmly attached to the car. I may also add another mounting point underneath to allow drivers eye view shots.
Once the camera plastic bracket adhesive goes off, needs a test...
